Traditional braces and clear aligners are both methods used to straighten teeth and correct bite problems, but they involve different techniques and have different advantages and disadvantages.

Traditional braces are a type of fixed orthodontic treatment that involves the use of metal brackets and wires that are attached to the teeth. The brackets and wires work together to apply pressure to the teeth, gradually moving them into their proper position over time. Traditional braces are highly effective and can correct a wide range of orthodontic issues, including severe bite problems and crooked teeth. However, they are more visible and may cause some discomfort or irritation during treatment.

Clear aligners, often sold under the brand Invisalign, are a type of removable orthodontic treatment that involve the use of clear plastic trays that are custom-made to fit over the teeth. The trays are worn over the teeth for most of the day and are changed out for a new set of trays every two weeks. Clear aligners gradually shift the teeth into their proper position over time, but they are less visible and more comfortable than traditional braces. Clear aligners are best for mild to moderate teeth misalignment and spacing problems. They also require a high level of compliance from the patient as they often need to be worn for 20-22 hours per day.
